I can’t remember where I heard this, but someone once said that defending a position by citing free speech is sort of the ultimate concession; you’re saying that the most compelling thing you can say for your position is that it’s not literally illegal to express.

The SCAR Project: Breast Cancer Is Not A Pink Ribbon

The SCAR Project is a series of large-scale portraits of young breast cancer survivors shot by fashion photographer David Jay. Primarily an awareness raising campaign, The SCAR Project puts a raw, unflinching face on early onset breast cancer while paying tribute to the courage and spirit of so many brave young women.

Dedicated to the more than 10,000 women under the age of 40 who will be diagnosed this year alone, The SCAR Project is an exercise in awareness, hope, reflection and healing.

Now HERE’S a good goddamn glimpse at breast cancer.  Fuck your “save second base” bullshit.  -C

A breast cancer campaign that’s about the women instead of the boobs? It’s sad how radical that is.

This is the best, because this is reality. Every time I see something that says “save the tatas” I want to smash things. I don’t think any of these women would appreciate the sexualization of their disease for “awareness” purposes.

In which Jace Clayton, aka DJ /Rupture, challenges you to take a walk from where you live and find the quietest place. Once you’re there, take it in for a moment and then make a short video or take some photos there.

Such a cool assignment from Jace Clayton.

If I lived in Portland I would go to the Japanese Garden. I could spend forever there.
